watchOS 10 Expected to Bring Significant Changes to Apple Watch UI

Apple’s watchOS 10 is anticipated to be a significant update for the Apple Watch, with “notable changes” coming to the user interface, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The hardware changes for the 2023 Apple Watch models are expected to be modest, with a more substantial update planned for 2024.

watchOS 10 A Major Upgrade

Gurman suggests that watchOS 10 will be a “fairly extensive upgrade,” especially in comparison to the minor visual updates expected in iOS 17. This could be a crucial move for Apple, considering the hardware changes for the Apple Watch in 2023 are anticipated to be minor. Apple may be aiming to make the most of the software upgrade ahead of a more significant hardware update in 2024.

Apple Watch Ultra and Future Plans

With the debut of the Apple Watch Ultra last year, Apple seems to be gearing up for changes in how the device works. A major update to the watch hardware, complete with a larger, custom-built display, is expected in 2024.

WWDC 2023 and Beyond

Apple is likely to announce watchOS 10 at the WWDC, scheduled for June 5 through June 9. The annual developer conference is also expected to introduce iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, and tvOS 17. Gurman believes that Apple’s long-rumored AR/VR headset and its xrOS operating system will be unveiled at the event.
