Sony has announced the WF-C700N wireless earbuds, bringing its renowned active noise cancellation (ANC) technology to a more affordable price point. Positioned between the entry-level WF-C500 and the higher-end WF-1000XM4 and LinkBuds S, the WF-C700N earbuds offer impressive features at a competitive price.
Features and Pricing
The Sony WF-C700N earbuds come equipped with ANC, a transparency mode, and Bluetooth Multipoint. Priced at £100 / €120 ($120), they provide a budget-friendly alternative to Sony’s pricier models, such as the $200 Sony LinkBuds S and the $279 WF-1000XM4. The earbuds are available for preorder in four colors: black, white, lavender, and sage green, with an expected delivery date of April 17 to April 18.
Design and Battery Life
The WF-C700N earbuds feature a design that combines elements from the C500 and LinkBuds S models, sporting mesh-covered mics and physical control buttons. The charging case has a lozenge-like shape, similar to the C500 model, but does not support wireless charging. The earbuds offer a battery life of up to 7.5 hours with ANC on and up to 10 hours with ANC off. The charging case holds one extra charge, providing a maximum of 20 hours away from a cable.
Sound Quality and Water Resistance
Sony has incorporated a 5mm driver and its classic DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) technology into the WF-C700N earbuds, which should provide high-quality sound despite the smaller driver size.
