Focusing on Bug Fixes and Improvements

The mid-cycle launch of Android 14 Beta 1.1 focuses on alleviating some of the worst bugs, including unresponsive fingerprint sensors, failed SIM detection, and missing network information in the status bar. The update aims to provide a smoother experience for Pixel users testing the new mobile OS.

Google Addresses System UI Crashes and Other Issues

The Android 14 beta 1.1 patch resolves various issues, including System UI crashes when accessing the Wallpaper & Style screen, mobile network display in the status bar, SIM detection, and fingerprint unlocking. The update also addresses a lock screen message issue when Smart Lock is enabled.

Upgrading to Android 14 Beta 1.1

Eligible Pixel smartphone owners running the first beta can easily upgrade their devices to the incremental beta by navigating to System Updates in Settings and downloading the new beta. Users with Android 13 stable version and interested in trying the Android 14 beta can sign up for the Android Beta Program, ensuring their device is eligible for Android 14.
