Samsung May Launch Galaxy Z Tab Foldable Tablet in 2023

Samsung Rumored to Introduce Galaxy Z Tab Foldable Tablet This Year

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch a foldable tablet, the Galaxy Z Tab, in 2023. According to tipster Revegnus, the tablet could be unveiled alongside the high-end Galaxy Tab S9 lineup this year. However, if the foldable tablet isn’t ready for release in 2023, it might be introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphones in 2024.

Galaxy Z Tab Expected to Feature a Larger Foldable Display

While there are no confirmed specs for the Galaxy Z Tab, it’s likely to have a larger foldable display than the 7.6-inch screen found on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The device may sport a 10-inch or larger screen, which would differentiate it from the current Galaxy Z Fold lineup.

The Galaxy Z Tab could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, providing it with impressive performance capabilities. It’s also expected to have a 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display, offering a smooth and visually appealing user experience. A large-capacity battery will likely be included to keep the device powered for extended periods.

Unique Features May Set Galaxy Z Tab Apart from Competitors

The Galaxy Z Tab may feature a triple-folding display, which would enable the device to fold in a way that one of the tri-folds acts as a cover screen, providing some smartphone functionality. When fully unfolded, the tablet display would be more landscape-oriented than the portrait orientation of the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Previous renders of a foldable tablet called the Galaxy Z Fold Tab have surfaced, showcasing a device with three screens, two hinges, and a magnetic dock on the tablet’s frame for charging the S Pen. These unique features, combined with the large foldable display, could set the Galaxy Z Tab apart from other tablets on the market.

Samsung Aims to Lead in Foldable Tablet Market

If Samsung releases the Galaxy Z Tab this year, it could potentially have a headstart over Apple, which is rumored to be working on a foldable iPad slated for a 2024 launch, according to reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. However, given the expected high price point of the Galaxy Z Tab, it remains to be seen whether the device will be a viable option for most consumers.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra are expected to be introduced during the second half of 2023. As consumer demand for convenience and portability in their devices continues to grow, Samsung’s integration of foldable technology in different devices could pave the way for more innovative products in the near future.
