Microsoft SwiftKey’s Bing AI Integration Arrives on Samsung Galaxy Devices

Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard Brings Bing AI to Samsung Galaxy Devices

Microsoft’s SwiftKey keyboard, which recently integrated Bing AI, is now making its way onto Samsung Galaxy devices, enhancing the typing experience with powerful search and AI capabilities.

SwiftKey and One UI Integration

The Bing AI feature is being incorporated into Samsung’s One UI Android launcher, which includes the SwiftKey keyboard as part of the system. Microsoft shared the news on Twitter, stating that the update, version 9.10.11.10, will roll out to Samsung users in the coming days. The Bing AI feature has been available to SwiftKey users since mid-April, including those using the recently revived iOS version.

Bing AI Offers Enhanced Features

The integration of Bing AI into SwiftKey provides users with a powerful tool that offers search, chat, and tone features. Samsung Galaxy device users who prefer not to have Bing AI in their keyboard can continue using the default Samsung Keyboard. However, as SwiftKey is embedded in One UI, Bing AI is essentially installed on most Galaxy devices without a removal option.

Potential Shift to Bing as Default Search Engine

There are reports suggesting that Samsung is considering replacing Google’s search engine as the default option on its Galaxy devices with Bing. If this change occurs, it could have implications due to existing agreements between Samsung and Google on Android OS licenses. It may not be possible for Samsung to abandon Google search without facing repercussions. Regardless of how this story develops, Bing AI is now available on Samsung Galaxy devices pre-loaded with SwiftKey, giving Microsoft’s AI a competitive edge over Google’s Bard.
