Adobe Premiere Pro Update Introduces Text-Based Video Editing and Automatic Tone Mapping

Adobe Premiere Pro Update Text-Based Video Editing and Automatic Tone Mapping

Adobe has announced new features for its video editor software Premiere Pro, including an innovative text-based editing feature powered by Adobe Sensei. This AI-driven feature allows editors to automatically transcribe clips, making it easier to create rough cuts by copying and pasting text. Additionally, Premiere Pro is introducing automatic tone mapping, enabling seamless integration of different media and color spaces within the same timeline without the need for LUTs or custom color settings.

Improved Workflow and Collaboration Features

The update also includes background auto-save, new format support, GPU acceleration, and expanded language support for Premiere Pro’s captioning toolset. Collaborative editing updates make it easier for editors to work together on the same project, with features like sequence locking, presence indicators, and offline work capabilities.

After Effects Enhancements

Adobe’s After Effects is receiving a new Properties Panel for quicker access to key animation settings, as well as performance optimizations such as faster timeline layer selection and multi-frame rendering of shapes. New keyboard shortcuts for selectable track mattes have also been added.

Availability of New Features

Adobe plans to release the latest versions of Premiere Pro and After Effects, including beta versions of text-based editing and automatic tone mapping, in May 2023.
