Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Could Outperform Apple’s A17 Bionic in GPU Performance

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Set to Challenge Apple’s A17 Bionic

Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is reportedly on track to deliver a GPU performance that could surpass Apple’s A17 Bionic. While the company has made significant strides with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, it still falls short of Apple’s A16 Bionic in terms of CPU performance.

Expected GPU Performance Boost

According to Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to feature a more powerful GPU, likely named Adreno 750, which could offer a 50% performance improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s Adreno 740. This potential leap in GPU performance may be enough to challenge Apple’s A17 Bionic chipset.

Comparing CPU Performance

Despite the anticipated GPU advantage, current leaks suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 may still lag behind the A17 Bionic in terms of CPU performance. However, the improved GPU capabilities could make it a more attractive option for some users.

Release Date and Adoption

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is expected to launch in late October or early November. Manufacturers like Motorola and Xiaomi are likely to be among the first to adopt the new chipset in their devices.
