iOS 16.4 Update Causing Battery Drain Issues for iPhone Users

iOS 16.4 Update Reportedly Draining iPhone Batteries

Apple released its iOS 16.4 update in late March, bringing new features such as unique emojis, an order-tracking widget, and Voice Isolation for calls. However, some iPhone users are now reporting battery drain issues since updating to iOS 16.4.

Complaints About iOS 16.4 Battery Performance

iPhone users have taken to Twitter and Apple’s Support Community forum to express their concerns about the battery drain problem. Some users mentioned overheating, screen stalling, and the need to hard boot their phones multiple times a day.

YouTube channel iAppleBytes conducted tests on the iOS 16.4 battery drain issue on six different iPhone models iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2020, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13. The tests revealed that the battery life on iOS 16.4 is “the worst” since iOS 15.7, with all devices showing poor results.

Mixed Responses and Advice for Users

Not all iPhone users have experienced battery drain issues with iOS 16.4. Some users on Reddit even reported improved battery life on their devices after updating. Nonetheless, for those experiencing battery drain, it is recommended to check out guides on how to fix battery issues on iOS 16.

Users who have not yet updated to iOS 16.4 may want to hold off and wait for the rumored iOS 16.4.1 release, which could potentially address the battery drain problem.
