Google’s forthcoming Pixel 8 Pro may take low-light photography to new heights, according to a recent report.
Pixel 8 Pro’s Improved Night Sight
The report by 9to5Google discovered code in the most recent Google Camera app, pointing to an upgraded Night Sight camera function exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro. This enhancement would allow the Pixel 8 Pro Night Sight mode to utilize both rear cameras simultaneously when zooming in at lower magnifications.
Dual-Camera Super Res Zoom for Night Sight
The existing Pixel 7 Pro uses a dual-camera technique called multi-camera Super Res Zoom to enhance the quality of standard shots. The new upgrade would extend Super Res Zoom functionality to Night Sight shots, improving low-light photography by capturing more light in each exposure.
To achieve this, Google must implement cutting-edge algorithms and novel machine-learning models for a seamless multi-camera Night Sight experience.
Anticipating the Pixel 8 Release
With each new Pixel smartphone, Google typically unveils fresh photographic features. The Pixel 8 already promises to be an exciting release, with rumors of a potent new video upgrade in the works.
